Default 'A****a no Joe' error message

There is text on the screen, and also 2 sets of verbal messages (so 2 files uploaded):

    https://www.sendspace.com/filegroup/...2FiuRhMoxVKIpA

    A friend translated for me:

RAMクリア準備中 もう一度RWM消去スイッチ押してください - RAM clear junbichu mou ichidou RWM shoukyo-Switch o****e kudasai
Preparing RAM clear - Please push the RWM erase button again.

RWM stands for Read Write Memory according to the version with sound.

Question- where is the RWM erase button and how long should it be pressed for? Is it the little red button bottom right at the back of the machine?

    Many thanks.

If it's anything like doing a hard reset then about 10 seconds should be fine. Maybe there's another reset button somewhere on the cell itself (not the frame)? This video helped me do a hard reset of my Penguin: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WYzoUwdI5lw

Did it ever work properly before?

I tried the above but it didn't work. The two buttons I can press at the back are the red ones in the attached photo (one you refer to I think is the button by the 4 red LEDs at bottom of picture). I've also attached photo of the message on the screen. I don't know what buttons there are on the cell?

I pressed each of the red buttons for 10 secs after switching on.

    The machine did work previously.

To do a hard reset your supposed to start with the machine in the off position (not on); hold down the reset button (you should hear a click), then while still holding down the button, turn the power on, wait ten seconds and let go of the reset button.

The red button behind a flap (middle left of above photo) was the one. I pressed it, then after the verbal message pressed it again. It was the second press that did the trick and the machine now works!

I haven't played this machine for several years literally. Just the Star Wars machine to fix now :-)
