Model A Single Shot - How Does It Work?

All:

I have finished my Single Shot Model A with a Recycler. I've had other, 1970s machines and a 1950s Single Shot. This is my first with a recylcler. I need some tips on how its used:

I need the help up with the initial set up (I know there is a video for Model A's, but not for a Single Shot Model A). For beginners, does the top ball tray need to remain fill in order for it to function?

Next, near the top feed (before it goes into tube that fills a lower ball tray) this appears to be either in a locked or unlock position? How should it be?

Also, down in the jackpot area, there seems to be another lock in place set up. How should this be?:

Finally (for me), I think this isn't working right. I think the small rod on the left might need adjusting. Ultimately, when I'm feeding balls into the jackpot holes, its not paying out a jackpot:

The top tray should be filled.

The middle tray empties and calls for more pachinko balls from the top tray via gravity (lack of gravity?)

If all the balls dump out. It's not set up correctly.

There is a manual somewhere here on the site. Sutra Import, it is great for adjustments.
