Default Replacing a 24 volt transformer on a Modern Machine

Stupid question.. but I want to ask this before I blow something.

I am replacing a 24V transformer on a machine.. I have the AC plug wired to the transformer, now I just need to wire it into the existing leads on the machine. Neither the wires coming from the machine, nor the wires coming from the transformer are marked or have the usual stripes, or ridges designating Neutral and Hot. So the stupid question is does it matter which wires get connected so long as its coming from the 24V leads?

I don't think it should matter, but, if you hear any strange sounds, reverse the wires

What are the specs on the transformer? If I'm not mistaken "all" modern machines use 24 volts AC. How many amps is a different story. High end deluxe machines like "The Matrix" need more amps than a more basic machine would. AC volts hace no polarity, where DC volts are polarized...a positive and negative pole that must be hooked up properly.

    24v 5amps

I am replacing with the exact same type of transformer so compatibility is mute.

My question specifically deals with hook up. So long as the machine attaches to the 24v output its good is what I am guessing.

24 v ac transformers are pretty much standard for furnaces Get one heating and air-conditioning supply house.

For this application - no the wires of the secondary as well as the primary is not polarity dependent (as you found out)
    Where's the "ANYKEY"?
