Default Help needed to identify this pachinko

Came across this machine the other day. Never saw one that was all metal on the backside. Might want to purchase but I'd like to know more about it first. Can anybody identify this and provide any info about it?

    Thanks in advance.

Nice looking old Nishijin. Probably early to mid 50s. Not sure about specifics. I haven't seen many Nishijins from that era...I'm sure they made plenty, just not many in the US. I have only seen 2 or 3...in pictures, for sale...or just purchased.
Looks like it functions like any Ginza or other brands. No door, to remove the glass, you pull back an aluminum tab at the top on the back. You can see it looking down the glass slot on top. The tab will lock to the rear by a notch in it. Palm the glass up to get it up and out. A suction cup dent puller works great for this. The few plastic parts on the back WERE clear, and ARE brittle. Some are probaby broken...and some of it will break soon after using it again. That being said...not a reason to pass! All machines that old have brittle plastics.
If you can get closer pics of the back, I could spot anything that looks out of place. I would buy it JUST because it is a 50s Nishijin.

Looking closer, the funnel that jackpot balls fall into is completely missing. The center round part has a trap door. When it opens, balls fall out, through the channel, striking the bells before going to the bottom tray on front. The only part left is the metal at the bottom with the 3 vertical slots in it. Could be fabricated...difficulty depends on how good you want it to look. Speaking about the trap door...there should be an arm that holds it shut, looks missing. The U turn at the left has a linkage hanging down. This linkage tilts another made of brass. It should be attached to the trap door latch.
If it were me...I would accept it as a gift. Possibly buy it if it were very cheap...like an ammount you wouldn't care about even if it never worked. With all parts intact, it would take a good bit of work to make it pretty. If it were a Ginza, you might find a parts machine to cannibalize. As a Nishijin, you will likely have to fabricate the parts. Not impossible, but not particularly easy.

The square channel on the right is the "ball dump" mechanism. It is usually on the left, so I am not sure if it is ok. Of course you know the top tray is bent. The glass latch might be missing a part, but that wouldn't bother me. The front looks pretty good except the badly rusted flipper and finger rest.
If it is cheap enough, get it. If they want to negotiate too much...pass.

The guy who has this one had 4 vintage (70's) machine plus this one. He originally wanted $225 for the lot of four. I bought two of the better ones for $100. I'd like to get the other two but I know realize I overpaid for the two I bought. I reconditioned them and they look great now but it was a lot of work and some pieces are missing on both machines. He thinks I can make a lot of money selling the recon ones.....
I was thinking of offering him $60 for the last two and maybe now I'll ask to have the metal one thrown in!
Thanks for all the great info. Much appreciated.

Here are some pics of the two I bought.

The two on the left are the ones I got from that guy. Now restored. The one on the right I got from my bother-in-law. I also have a Nisijin model A.

Hahahaha. That is a sure way to know that the seller knows nothing about pachinkos. I love those craigslist ads that have a photo of a machine some guy with no clue is trying to sell for $1500 with an ad stating these SELL for $1500 on eBay, buy it for $500 and turn it into $1500. If that was the case there would be a lot more pachinko flippers and I'd have a goldmine sitting in the spare bedrooms.

I think your single shot is a 1952 model. As that is the only place it fits in the catalog that I have made. http://www.pachinkoboy.com/machine-m...brand/nishijin

Also here is a picture of the back of my 53 Nishijin machine which is similar to yours.
    0044g.jpg

Also can you do me a favor and post a picture of the sticker on the playfield (the big rectangle one with the makers name) as I haven't seen one like that yet.

Though part of me is leery that its actually a nishijin (why I asked for a picture of the tag) as that Comic center feature was used by like 5 different brands for a period of about 4 years or so. As the back mechanics aren't fitting in line with Nishijin style.

    100 machines and counting...

I just noticed mine doesn't have the upper door pocket. Your machine seems to have a lot of comic gate parts. Backgrounds look the same and the stickers and plastic that says Nishijin match. Yours may be a couple years older I really am no expert

I've got to get back to the guy eventually.... If I end up buying it, I'll post all sorts of pics. If not, I'll try to remember to get a shot of that sticker for you.
Notice the piece of plastic around the door lock. It says "Nishijin".
