Default Nishijin tulip has paper gasket, what is the best way to clean?

    Hello,

I am in the middle of a restore on my first Nishijin restore and the tulips have a paper or then cardboard gasket (not sure of a better word) on the back that seems like it is glued to the tulip. I don't remember my other restores having them but my memory is very bad so I could be wrong. I usually soak the tulips in soapy water and scrub with a toothbrush but am concerned with dropping these in water. How do most people clean them?

    thanks for any advice,
    Mike

I just cut new ones from a 12 pack beer box

Bill is the man! He's probably alternating between drinking those 12 beers and doing 50 pounds curls with his free hand while he works on a pachinko with his other hand.

I just wash them with a toothbrush and avoid water on the backs as much as possible, blow dry with compressed air and let the cardboard air dry before installation.

With another machine. Just buy / make one of the fancy carry handles and you have an instant kettle bell.

    100 machines and counting...

Back on topic. I gently peel them off and then glue them back on (white glue) upon reinstallation.

This is what I will attempt first. If I wreck them I will go the cardboard route.
