    Default Model C Questions

    Hi All,
I am new to Pachinko and have a couple of questions about a Model C.
Firstly, from my tinkering and reading through past posts I know i can squeeze the lugs on the back and part of the back assembly will come straight off. My question is, is there anything to look out for? Does it come off cleanly? My fear is that bits my fall out and I will spend the rest of my days trying to reassemble it! And does it locate and go back on easily?

Secondly. the sticker on the back seems to mention 10v, which i have assumed is for the lights? But it also mentions 24V, what is this for? I can see the microswitches that activate the lights are rated at 25V?

This looks like an excellent forum and I am sure I will have lots more questions!

    Chris

The back mechanism will come off cleanly. Nothing will fall out.

The back does go back on nicely. There is a ball dump lever and a flag lever that need to be positioned correctly. I'm going from memory... yikes.

The lights will work fine off a 9V battery. You can replace the bulbs when the back is off. Some folks go to 12V bulbs and a wall pack, works great too!

as stated the back come off clean no real worries there.. keep and eye on the ball dump and flag lever when removing and reinstalling.. if its not going smooth stop dont force it...

most all vintage machine need 10 volts for lights i usually run 12 volts with no problems.. some times i am able to find 9 volt power sources then work great as well.. some machines do require 24 volts for motors and solenoids.. post a few pics of your machine (front and back) and im sure we can help ya out..

    and of course

    Welcome to Pachitalk

    Hi,
    Thanks for the replies!
With new found confidence I took the back off, and as you said it came off and relocated easily.
I have been playing again this afternoon and I have a few more questions:
    1) When i fill the feeder tray the balls seem to tumble over one another as they enter the track to where the prizes are dispensed, i assume this is not right? It seems to cause jams? How can I stop/ fix this? Have included a photo.
    2) At the base of the machine to the left is a horizontal wire, does this need to go over the bar as indicated in the pic? Its attached to the flipper?

    Thanks again

I don't currently have a Model C, other will chime and to help with the ball jams, I would think there should be some sort of cover to prevent this.

As for the wire, it is in the correct spot, this is to stop your shooter should you win to much and overfill the overflow, the balls will back up to the point of pushing that wire to stop the shooter.

Nice looking machine by the way..... and Welcome

You do have a nice Model C !!!

Tink answered about the overflow wire.

Your missing piece is what I call the "lower feed ramp cover". Usually, the machine will work more reliably with that cover in place. It is the piece most commonly missing on vintage machines.

Others have already answered your questions but wanted to say it is a nice looking machine. I would someday like a C machine but have never seen one for sale in my area. There are not a lot of machines in my area in general but no Cs that I have seen...

yes, nice machine.. most of your questions were answered already.. but your machine does want 10 volts power for the lights.. as stated above i have ran these machines on 12volt wall warts for years now.. the bulbs will probably burn out faster with the extra power but they only blink on and off for a second so the harm in minimal.. you can also use a 9 volt battery as well.. what ever works for you ..

you machine does not need the 24 volts as it has not add on features.. some machine from the same era as your have neat features like motors that operate tulips to open slow or solenoids that snap open and then close a tulip or other feature quickly.. but like i said your machine just needs power for lights..

very nice machine and rear on you side of the pond..

Apologies for the delay in responding, I have been away for a few days and am now trying to catch up on everything.
I wanted to say thank you to everyone for your help and advice, I have really appreciated it.
I will do some more work on the machine and I may have some more questions!
I can also see me purchasing other machines if the opportunity arises, this could get addictive
