Default Downloading firmware updates to a modern Pachinko via Ethernet cable...

    Hey all,

I noticed that the back of my Sanyko Gundam Red Fever there is a CAT-5 ethernet cable for data connection. I didn't think much of it...

But today I went over to the website and saw that there was an update released on 9/11/15 for the game. Well, at least I think there is... the translation is weird.

So... have any of you guys ever heard of an "update" being released for a machine? It is very common in the US pinball industry to release updates for up to 3 years after public release of a machine. These updates are downloaded from the manufacturer website, and loaded onto the game via USB.

Are you sure it's a CAT-5 (RJ45) connection? Most pachinkos have an RJ11 connection (slightly smaller with only 6 pins instead of the 8 pins of an ethernet connection), which is used to verify that the CPU software running on the pachinko is authentic.
