    Default Victory flag question

    Hello,

I've been off the grid for a while busy with other things in my life and just starting to restore a couple machines I purchased a while back. I'm working on a Nishijin for the first time and have a quick question. I noticed this machine does not have the little victory flag but the arm that stops the balls is there. Will the machine function as expected like this? Does the flag arm assist in stopping the balls or is it just a visual indicator to show why the balls have stopped feeding? Picture attached of how it looks in my machine.

    Thanks,
    Mike

I have seen this as well, does yours have the light behind the shooter window?

Thanks both for the replies. I think it might have had a flag arm at one time. If you look at that picture next to the arm with the gate to block the balls is a pin I think the flag arm would have gone to. Also after Tink's question I went and looked and there is a red lens (picture attached back there but no light that goes to it.

Will the machine function without the flag? I think it will and is only for a visual to let you know why it stopped feeding balls but not sure and wanted to make sure. I'm restoring as a present for my sister and family and wanted to make sure I won't have an issue when complete. I don't remember from when I first got it if any issues working.

    Thanks,
    Mike

As suspected, I have a similar one without the flag. I also had the red lens with no light and have seen another with a factory light installed, The unit will function fine without the flag, it is only for visual indication. I added the light to mine so the lens glows on low ball.

Excellent thank you! For the light you hooked up, does it just run off the same switch as the out of balls light at the top? I need to figure out the lighting, there are some broken off wires and they had the fuse wrapped in tin foil. Kind of a mess....

Correct, wired to the low ball switch. I used a rubber grommet that fit the hole nicely, the factory one I saw had a tin bracket for mounting the light.

Awesome, thx! I need to do the electric on all of my machines. The only one I have done the lights on so far was a gift. All of mine are still lightless. This one also being a gift I will do the lights anyway. Thx again for the help!
