    Default Thoughts on increasing payouts.

So my Sankyo is fantastic. The whole family loves playing with it. I was wondering peoples thoughts on possibly removing or moving nails to increase payouts. Just some small tweaks so that light comes on and the bell rings and everyone gets excited just a bit more often. The payouts come, but there are some long stretches sometimes between them. Good for a parlour owner, though!

i would never consider pulling a nail.. looks bad..

now what you need to do is adjust your nails.. move them apart a bit to open the pathways to the pockets.. remember there are nails further up that can help balls get moving in the right directions.. i have made adjustments to machine that pay well over 100%.. a little bit can go along ways.. sometimes i get carried away and have to tighten them back up a bit..

not only can you spread the nails from left to right but some times bending one or two up wil increase ball flow

I figured pulling nails would be last resort, now I will just avoid it completely. I'll make some adjustments tonight and see. Maybe if I post a picture of the field I could get some suggestions. Ill work on it a bit first. Thanks!

Needle nose pliers with a towel wrapped around them. Just bend the nails apart and up and down slightly like mopar said. A little on some can make huge differences. Usually when we restore machines I probably spend an hour just adjusting nails to make it payout right.

I use a small 1/4 inch deep well socket on a 1/4 inch screwdriver handle for adjusting nails

Never thought of that. Also a very good way. Probably better than the pliers.

(Though I got true nail adjusting pliers so I just posted what I thought would work)
