    Default Pachislo Sound Modifications

Need help identifying source of a sound in my pachislo. I purchased my first electronic pachislo machine, a Yamasa Neo Planet. Love it, but I live in a condo and the sound is loud. I was able to locate the 4 speakers and unplug them from the motherboard HOWEVER I still hear sound when the wheels turn. It's a loud shrill hum that gets lower every time you press a button to stop the wheel. When all wheels stop, the sound stops. I think it's coming from the wheels themselves???? Not sure. Is there any way to locate what that sound would be and where it's coming from, and then is there a way to lower or modify it?

Thank you. I have posted a video here http://www.pachinkomedic.com/staging-area/
Not sure if the sound is a deliberate sound effect that can be controlled or if it is a motor issue like you suggest. I checked out a few videos online and other machines seem to have a similar sound. There are 2 nobs in a plastic case on the top of the door, but they don't seem to control the reel sound. The sound seems to be coming from the reel area not the speakers.

I watched your video. Sounds like every Yamasa brand machine I've owned.

That's just the sound the motors make, nothing you can do about it. When the machines are in a Parlor setting, the volume is set so loud on every machine in the parlor and you never hear the reel sound. So, there's no reason to use a quiet motor.

turn each reel by hand to see if any are rubbing on something and you might try some contact cleaner sprayed on the motor shafts.

I tend to agree with Wayne-Ooo. I have a Neo Pharoah Zetz, by Yamasa with the EL vision overlay, and the reel hum is standard issue with these machines.
Take a listen to this YouTube video, and you will see it sounds just like your machine.

Yep, its the reel stepper motors. Make sure machine sits on a perfectly flat surface. Also check all mounting screws on the reels cage etc. Some plastic canalso rattle from vibration...
