I got a working 500gb 2 1/2" hard drive for 50 cents today from Goodwill
its in 4 segments, drive f, j, l, and g, I formatted all 4 segments, but, don't know about formatting it all into one drive only

You should be able to go into Disk Management (Create and format hard disk partitions) and remove the partitions,
until you have a blank, unallocated drive. Then create a new solid partition for the entire drive.

Hey Lucky, You can also use a program called Partition Master. It will remove the partitions that sometimes disk management will not (all depends on how the partitions were created)
