Default Sophia Model B feed tray release clogged

Hey All! Brand new to Pachinko machines, and this forum, and I need a bit of help!

I picked up my first Pachinko machine from an Antiques fair. It works quite well, lights, jackpot and all, EXCEPT for the feed tray release. It will let about 1 3/4 balls into it, then it will stop, and the slide won't fully close again. I can get those balls back out using a magnetized rod, but I can't see or reach whatever is further in that is clogging the chute. Any tips for getting in there and clearing that out?

sounds like your trying to use the ball dump from the shooter tray?? sometimes things get jammed in there.. the only real way to get it moving freely is to remove the tray and clear the blockage..

try posting a pic of the problem area and im sure we can help ya out..

    and of course

Welcome to PachiTalk. I'm a former Southwest Michigander. Can you post a photo of your problem? It really helps to see what is going on.

I've been one minute behind Mopar on two posts in a row. I'm tapping out and giving him the reins.

Yeah, the ball dump. I was just using a term I found in one of the PDF instruction manuals. Totally new to all this, so I don't know the terminology yet.

As for pictures, there's not really much to see right now. The jam isn't visible from the top, looking into the chute, and I don't know where to look for it on the back. I haven't torn anything apart yet. Can the tray be removed without removing all the mechanicals? I'm not averse to dismantling things, I'm just nervous about RE-mantling.

the tray is usually very easy to remove.. usually only held on with small Philips head screws.. open the glass door, open the shooter tray door.. i find it best to unlatch the shooter door and then i can lay it flat on a towel and remove the screws..

Ok, sorry for the reply delay. Got it all apart, that was a LOT easier than I was afraid it was going to be.

    The problem was, Drumroll please!

Somebody put a penny down the chute. It would block the balls from rolling all the way down the chute, but as a zinc/copper penny, wasn't getting picked up by the magnet-stick.
    Thanks for the help, guys!
