Default Proud owner of Toyotec Rocky ... Now some questions

Regarding pachinko balls, my 1500 arrived yesterday.

I was disappointed to find that Rocky's top hopper cannot hold that many. I'm not sure but it maybe can only 500.

    Is this normal?

I was hoping I could dump a ton of balls in there and not need to reload during fever.

i think my Rocky holds about 1000 balls, more if you mound them in the hopper. Then I keep another 500-1000 available in the front of the machine to feed the shooter. When I start running low on balls to feed the shooter, during a reach I will top off the rear hopper and swap the empty ball bin with the full one from the losing ball catch in the rear of the machine. 1500-2000 balls keeps things moving pretty well for me.

I found rocky does hold more balls than I thought, but it's not reasonable to fill it to the top without manually manipulating how the balls lay in the hopper.

I may look into adding a tube from my cabinet to the hopper. I suspect that if the tube ends just before the top of the hopper, I'll be able to put lots of balls in the additional ball holder on top of the cabinet. I don't think the downward force will cause the balls to push out of the hopper, rather they will sit in the tube and the cabinets ball holder.

Negative would be the balls falling out onto the floor if I open cabinet when balls are in cabinet holder

I verified last night that Rocky does stop the launcher when both ball areas are full. There is a red light that turns on, but it's not real obvious.

Did some work on the cabinet I got with Rocky. I moved the top hopper to the right and toward the back, allowing it to dispense balls into Rocky's hopper without obstruction. The previous position had it dropping balls on Rocky's wooden support. Also, I added a pipe to direct the balls into Rocky's hopper. Now I can put 1500 balls in there and they don't spill out. There is a negative, however, which is I better not open the cabinet with these balls in there!

someone in the past had a plastic pipe with a built in shutoff piece that slid over the pipe opening.

other members had a flat thin piece to block the balls when opening the door.

Look what I got for 99 cents... it's basically brand new condition, but with yellowed pages from age.

Thanks. It helps that my wife is a librarian ... she knows how to find this kind of thing!

And yes, it was 99 cents. But I had to pay $3.99 to have it shipped. So let's call it $5. Still a great deal, IMHO. Took about a week to get it.

As for Pachinko... I haven't had time to play all week. Although Rocky is now mounted on the wall, with a table below it to catch balls. I'll snap a pic and post it...
