Default New member in need of assistance

    Greetings:

I recently acquired the machine seen in attached photos. I have no formal experience/knowledge of Pachinko short of playing (what I remember as) a very similar machine in my grandparents' home many years ago, which is what inspired me to purchase this one.

I am hoping some more knowledgeable/experienced members might be able to assist me in identifying it, and would also be appreciative of any tips anyone can offer to help me get it operational. The previous owner told me she bought this machine over 30 years ago and never attempted to run it. It's in need of a good cleaning, and I can tell there are multiple balls stuck inside, but beyond that I could use some guidance as to the proper way to go about disassembly and if there are any other common issues I should expect.

Would greatly appreciate any help anyone can offer.

    TA

I'm not the best expert here, but looks like a 1975 Nishijin 4200 (B)

Your machine has water stains that won't really clean up much. Your machine looks to have all the parts in order and should work.
There is a sticky thread with a video and discussion about the model B.

    This is a great E-book!
    Really focuses on your model.

Very much appreciate all the responses and good information -- the videos and other posts on this board have been a great help. I spent a couple of hours cleaning the machine/was able to free all the stuck balls and it actually seems to be playable - a pleasant surprise as I was expecting much more work would be needed. Right now I am waiting for the 500 balls I ordered to arrive tomorrow so I can test it fully, then plan to work on the lights and maybe build a small table top enclosure. Will keep you updated as to any further questions/issues that might arise. Thanks again,

As mention previously This is a Nishijin 4200, usually referred to as the "model B" It is one of the most common models found so you should have little trouble finding info and parts. I like to call it the gateway pachinko, as many of us pachiholics start with a model B and then we're hooked. There is also a great sticky in here in the vintage forum with a good step by step on replacing the playfield graphics as almost all of these old nishijins suffer from some degree of water-staining. I found it quite helpful when I restored my first machine, a 1974 model B. Welcome to a wonderfully eccentric hobby and we look forward to seeing pics of that fine machine all cleaned up.
