    Well, this a little different.

    I've never owned a Machine this old. Your machine was made in 1995, which makes it 20 years old. I've heard that some machines did have a sensor built into the motor assembly.

    I just feel that from what you described, the reel starting and stopping, is normally a dirty sensor. Because this is how the machine knows where the reel is, when it's spinning. If it doesn't sense where it is, it stops, then starts again.

    Hmmm, I did stop and ask the person who put it out to the curb if he had the keys to it and he said he didn't and it was at the house when he purchased it 2 years ago. He said it was out on his porch for the last 2 years. Maybe I should let the reels spin for 10 to 15 minutes before trying to stop them. It's a shame because other than the one reel starting and stopping,..everything else seems to be ok. It just needs a good cleaning and it will be a pretty nice machine. I think I will try to switch the reels around to see if it's the step motor or something else like wiring or a bad stop switch. What do you think? Anything else I could look for? When the mods let my videos post, you'll see what I mean with the one reel. Thanks again for the help.

    Hey, at this point I'd clean it up. These machines were built fairly well and most all problems are bad/loose connections and that parts are dirty.

    I'd reset all of the connections. (Pull each connection and plug it back in.)

    Hopefully your problems can be solved by this. If you need parts, that's a whole other story. There aren't any suppliers for parts. The machines were not designed to be fixed. If a problem occurred with a machine it was discarded and a new one put in it's place. Parts are found from "dead machines", that members have. The older the machine = harder to find parts.

    Wayne-Ooo, can you take a look at post 12 and 13. The videos are posted now. I will try those suggestion you mentioned about pulling each connector and plugging back in over the weekend. I really would like to see if I can get this to work again. Thank you for all your help.

    If if by chance I can't would anyone have a step motor for this machine they would like to sell? Thank you...

    After watching the video, I'm still guessing that whatever is sensing where the first reel is, is not working. Which won't allow the first stop button to work.

    The machine won't let you stop the reel if it doesn't know where the reel is.

    Ok, I'll complete what you suggested and see what happens. First I'm going to plug in reel number 2 in reel ones spot and see if it does the same thing. If that reel stops, then I'll know it's something in the step motor in reel one.
    It's strange,..I'll reset the machine all the reels are stopped, then I'll insert a coin, and this is when I can't get that first reel to stop. Also, the first reel spins then stops for a second then starts again as you can see in the video. Again thank you for all your responses Wayne-Ooo. It helped me out a lot since I'm a newbie to slot machine and the mechanics behind them.

    Does anyone have one of these machines that could also shed some light on how the reels sense where they are? Is the sensor inside the step motor?

    Are you talking about Wayne-Ooo's post #18 or my post #20? If it's post #20, these are the light sockets. Please see picture.

    those symbols are Japanese for off and on and
    I usually add the info to the Hard reset instructions , (let me know if you need those too)

    Two switches on the power supply:
    - One requires a soft reset at the end of a bonus.
    - The other pays out all tokens at the end of a bonus.

    For these switches in most cases off is in the down or right position. The for off and on are:

    無 = off

    有 = on

    and you've probably already seen it but just in case you haven't,

    I'll pop the usual link to our PDF Pachislo manual as it will help with identifying parts and there is also some more brand specific info towards the latter pages:

    Thank you! Sure, I would like to know how to do a hard reset. I did complete a reset yesterday that Wayne-Ooo posted in post #4 of this thread. Is there another? I did notice that when I did the reset that Wayne-Ooo posted, it didn't remember the difficulty level I set. Is there a battery that holds this in memory that may need replacement?

    Just double checked and yes Wayne has already given you the Full / Hard reset instructions.

    Although I'm thinking that if your spin lever didn't lock in the odds then perhaps your pachislo hasn't reset itself and you may need to try again?

    Is your spin lever working okay?

    Sorry although I own a few pachislos I'm not the best technically minded with them

    So hopefully someone can offer you some more in the way of trouble shooting

I tried to reset it a few times, but it doesn't remember the odds setting and remains on #5. The spin lever does works. So, I'm not sure if there is a battery on the main board that holds the odds setting in place after setting it to memory? Sort of like a car radio, if you don't use the one wire to a constant power supply, it won't remember the radio stations you set. Unless a capacitor does this with the Cranky Condor? At this point I'm really not worried about that, but more why this first reel wont stop spinning. I wish we could find out if the sensor is internal in the step motor. If so, I will take the step motor apart. Getting back to the reset part, after you hold down the spin lever,..do you continue to hold down the spin lever while you turn the reset switch off and then release the spin lever or do you hold down the spin lever, release it then turn the reset switch off?? Also, do you have to hold down the spin lever for any length of time??,.. example, 5 seconds 10 seconds or so on? Thanks guys,..I believe we'll gets this Cranky Condor up and running again..!! Right now, it's very Cranky..LOL.

    What you are doing, by "jumping" the keyed reset switch will work. If you get time you can replace the keyed switch with a toggle switch.

    A capacitor is used to store power.

    I would hold down on the Spin Lever for 10 seconds, then release it. Then turn the reset key.

    If you have tested the reels in different positions and the problem follows the reel in question, then you know there is a problem with the motor/sensor. I don't think you have much to lose by disassembling it and see what you can find.
