Default Is it difficult to remove Popeye large LCD to clean front glass?

I just picked up a Popeye Pachislo...wasn't easy. I notice a few smudges on the inside of the front glass. I was wondering if it was very difficult/dangerous to remove the LCD inorder to clean?

Also are there any places to buy replacements parts if the LCD ever fails?

I seems like the smudges are in front of the reels on the inside of the glass. I guess I'd have to unhook all the electronics before removing which could be an issue.

It really isn't hard to remove, just a lot of connections to unplug and 5 screws.

There are 18 connections to unplug. 5 connections from the circuit board above the screen, 5 connections from the circuit board mounted on top of the screen and 8 connections on the bottom of the screen.

There are 2 screws on top of the screen and 3 screws on the bottom.

Once you have all the connections unplugged and the screws out the screen is still held in place by 2 hooks, so just lift the screen up and it will come out.

Great info! Thanks! Do you happened to know anywhere I could buy spare parts for the Popeye slot? Mine is in good shape, but there are defintiely some scratches on the glass screen. If it was possible to replace, I definitely do it. Thanks!

It's pretty simple to replace the glass.

Once you have the monitor removed you will see that the plastic frame that held the monitor in place, (which also holds the glass in place), can be removed by removing the 10 screws.

Once you remove the plastic frame you will see that the glass is held in place by 4 retaining tabs. Gently pull the side of the plastic frame out and the glass will be released from the tabs and come right out.

You can take the old piece of glass to the Home Improvement Store and have them cut you a new piece.
