Default need help on a wierd part for sanyo pachinko

    Hi folks;

I need help in identifying this part from my latest restoration; I took lots of piccies when I took it apart but missed this (oops)

Can someone help me with where it goes and/or what it is; I am familiar with pachis (have restored 6 so far) but this is my first 1978 Vintage Sanyo

THE PART (it seems to have rocker pins on either side part is pictured right way up - thats all I know)

I'm not even quite sure that part goes to this machine. I can't recognize it from all the machines I have looked at.

    100 machines and counting...

Welcome to Pachitalk. The part doesn't look familiar to me. Are you sure it came out of the machine? Brisbane, Australia or California?

not something that looks right to me either... at first pic i was thinking derby gate.. but your machine does not have a derby gate..

i dont think its pachi related..

    either way

The Butterfly Jackpot in the middle has two holes at the top which trigger a small flip-flop lever in each that determines where the ball goes (either straight through or through an extra set of pathways hidden behind the butterfly) is this what you mean by a derby gate - see photo)

the gate that the balls go down only after first activating the flip-flip mechanism in the butterfly's head
(the flip-flops are two small square stop sign shaped pieces of plastic that rock from one position to the other as a ball goes through them see picture)
(a red butterfly and the ball goes straight through to tulip below else ball goes into blue mechanism)
(I have looked closely at this and I can see no place for the piece)
(i'll put the pachi pins in and test the mongrel thing - mybe you are right and it is nothing - I have a lot of clutter in my lab and it could have come from anything)
(I assumed it came from this pachi because it was in with the pieces of the pachi when I was putting it back together)

The pachi has a rather unusual Jackpot mechanism see below

I am going to put the machine back together and see if it works without this piece

(if a red butterfly is showing then the ball falls straight through the jackpot else it goes into the blue mechanism behind the butterfly
