Default Dating an all timber prewar? pachinko

    snd352.jpgsnd353.jpg

Greetings from Auckland, New Zealand. I would appreciate any information regarding the year of this machine as there appears very little about horizontal machines, apart from a wiki article that suggested they were pre war as they took up a lot of space and they were eventually forced to go vertical. I have a Chinese cantonese speaking friend who interpreted the japanese characters that it "was the latest model" from the makers plate (pictured), and a person from a japanese food market told me the plate indicated the maker and their address, but not much else, which wasn't very helpful as there appears to be a lot of other information on the makers plate. The machine has two lightbulbs on the play field and a buzzer actuated by the metal ball falling down some of the holes and forming part of the circuit. The ball is release from the hole by pulling a wire at the back which drops the ball into the return shoot. My specialty is jukeboxes and any info on this would be welcome.

Thanks for the info - now I'm getting somewhere. Seems to be a hybrid of several styles when I researched smartball.

Neat smartball machine. I would say it looks to be late 40's for sure.

    100 machines and counting...
