    Default Ginza 1952/1953

    Hello All!

I was able to win the Ginza 1952/53 that was noted in this thread: http://www.pachitalk.com/forums/crai...etty-nice.html

Does anyone know or can point me the way on how the mechanics work? I have a basic idea on how it does work but I think there is a missing part that is highlighted in the attached picture. The rod appears to attach to the jackpot mechanism and there is a spot on the seesaw where it looks like some was hitting it.

Also, any deciphering of the tag would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Alan

Weird that tag says January 1948. However the machine should be a 52.

Also there is nothing else need for that rod. If you notice the see-saw goes down and pushes it up to trigger the jackpot mechanism.

If your familiar with it the machine operates almost exactly like a Nishijin Model B.

Thanks Alpha!! By the way, the single ball conversion that you give me is still with me and is now #2 on the restore list. I'm at place now where I can restore them and the one I'm working on is my test bed for play field replacement.

What I found is the spring loaded "blocker" needs to be in the down position at all times. The track moves down during paying to load the balls into the jackpot for the next one. I had it in the up position thinking it only needed to be in the down position during ball dump. Payout and mechanics are working perfectly. Just some cleaning is needed.

    Back to the tag.

I also read it as a 1948. It is also a working single ball machine as shown in these pictures.

The front tray is at an angle and is backed by a piece of wood. From what I can see, it looks like I will have to have the glass cut at an angle. I won't know until I take off the front tray.

This now causes me to ask the next question.

Is this actually a 1948 single ball that's been converted to multi-ball?

    Thanks,

    Alan

Also, what I observed is the rod resets the seesaw after payout.

I think it would be save to say that the machine might have been built in 48 and then rebuilt in 52.

As most true multishot machines that were built in 52 couldn't be used as a single shot as well. So kinda neat there.
