Think I got a great deal on my first machine, need advice

So I'm about to go and meet with this ebay seller for a machine. He claims that a fuse is most likely blown, and the machine will no longer light up. Judging from the pics in the auction, it COULD be a fuse, because there are three pics, where one set of lights is lit, and others aren't. My friend and I are very good with electronics and we plan on fixing it up. Is there anything else I should look for? sorry i can't help with your technical query but I did a bit of googling to see what your pachislo is called as I didn't recognise the name 'welcome to the paradise'

One has to ask....if it's really such a quick and easy fix as a fuse....why didn't the seller replace it already?

I would not want to get stuck with a "parts machine". Hopefully someone here can show you where exactly the fuses are to confirm/deny the sellers claims "I'm sure it just needs a fuse".

I deal with technologically stupid people all the time, so nothing surprises me. Maybe he knows the terminology but not the procedure.

Or maybe someone put 110v into a 24v machine. They have the same plugs in Japan. A good inspection is worth while. Check the data plate and any transformers.

From looking at the pictures, in the Ebay listing, it looks as if the machine okay. The power supply is lite up. If you look at the power supply, you will see that the key is turned to the right. I think the machine is in "reset mode". That's why it's not working!

Turn the machine ON and push down on the spin lever, turn the key back to the left and the machine should activate.

That did it! It's so amazing! AND I found the manual sealed behind the reels. It's so beautiful! Thank you all so so much! Now to find the tokens for it!

I DO have another question. In the manual it says I can switch it to Direct Payout mode by holding cancel and waiting for -- -- to show up on the credits meter, but it's not working. Any ideas?

check ebay for pachislo tokens, you could get by with 500, 1,000 would be better

5 cents each shipped is a good price. I had one of the same machine, the light on top lights up and spins around when you get bonus rounds

Just make sure you get the correct size token. This machine was released in both 25 and 30 pai token size.

25 pai about the size of a quarter and 30 pai about the size of a 50 cent piece.

There's more than just replacing the coin mechanism. You will need to modify the hopper also or find a 25 pai hopper. You will find that obtaining parts are sometimes hard to find.

You may want to keep it a 30 pai machine.
By the time you buy a new coin mechanism and a hopper, you could of just bought the 30 pai tokens.

Yeah I ended up buying a bunch of 30 pai tokens. Wayne thank you so much for all of your insight. I tend to hop into new things quickly and full steam ahead, and don't think things through. This is why I ask haha. I should be in bed, but I'm still playing the damn thing haha. Now that I think about it I'm p sure I have some connects to YAJ. I had no problem finding said tokens, but yeah, Yahoo Auctions Japan
