It's up to $125. We'll see how high this one goes.

Almost a little too fair. Hope they don't just shove it in a box and send it.

    It's back up: http://www.shopgoodwill.com/auctions...-20644652.html

Currently bid is $185 but the reserve still has not been met.

Is this actually from 1952/53 and is it a single ball conversion?

    Thanks,

    Alan

Reserve price was $500. Not sure if they lowered it.

It isn't a true single shot conversion. This machine was actually built like a normal model B with an upper tray. Though at one time it does look like it had a manual ball lifter installed (3 holes at the bottom of front).

However, these models were only built from 51 to 53 (I think) and then got outlawed for a period of time and returned around 65 (I think).

This is the response I received when I inquired about the high reserve:

Hello, I apologize for inconvenience, yes the Currently : $180.00 (Reserve Not Yet Met)
    Started At : $9.99
    Bid Increment : $1.00
    Reserve : $500.00
We will run this item for at least ten times, or thirty days, whichever comes first. Then we will decide to lower the reserve or explore our options. Thank you for supporting Goodwill San Antonio and our mission.

I think this is one of the areas where you see differences in how each of the shopgoodwill locations differ. They also differ with shipping policies(some will ship a pachi, some won't). Hopefully this location will come around and lower the reserve(odd they even have one).

Auction just ended. No sale again at $200.

What I'm trying to figure out is if they have the reserve so high why are they still starting the auction at $10?

That was my bid. I was seeing if they dropped the reserve.

Lame. Maybe you will wear everyone else down and they will get tired of bidding!

I don't understand why you thought that was lame. Anyone can bid and bid what ever amount they want.

Plus, the bid was at $195 before I even placed the bid.

I was referring to how Goodwill is stretching it out for nothing, not you trying to bid. Hope you eventually get it for a reasonable price. Sometimes those guys don't make a lot of sense, plus there's no real national auction standards for them, so each location pretty much does what they want. Some will ship a pachinko, some won't, some charge more for shipping than the unit actually weighs, etc., but this is the first one I have seen with a reserve plus the fact they just don't care that it will never make that reserve price. Just my 3 cents worth.....

naha13 - Obviously I took that the wrong way. Apologies.

It looks like it's gone through 8 rounds now without dropping the reserve. I wonder if they set the reserve high to see if they can determine a value base on the bids.
