Default Sanyo lighting, dates and bell

here's some pictures of one of my machines. I'm trying to figure out how to get the lights to work properly. I'm not sure which pin is plus and minus but I have figured out that the lower 2 pins provide power. The only other thing I really need is to figure out how to get the second light to work which i think is the jackpot. The bulb holder is distended and not in very good shape due to overheating. if there's some sort of replacement available that would be great otherwise I'll have to fab up something to hold the bulbs. I'm not sure if this machine should light both bulbs in jackpot or just the lower one which would be yellow. Any advice is much appreciated.

Also still not sure how determine the age of these machines. it seems I'm not able to find the secret number or the tag that it's located on.

the bail on this machine seems to be more dull overtone compared to my other machines. But I'm not sure if it should sound this way or 4th supposed to sound more rIngy.

crazy voice to text change my last little bit. I was trying to talk about the bell as I've got nothing to compare it to other than my other two machines which have a high ringing tone. This one seems to have more of a dull ring to it but I'm not sure if it's common for the Sanyo machine

    Looks like it's a 1975.

For the date, add 1925 to the number. That tells you the expiry date. Subtract a year to get an approximate manufactured date.

The bell may be really dented. It can be rotated to a new spot. You would have to take it apart to see.

I'm pretty sure the top two posts are the ones you want to connect to. You don't need to concern yourself with positive and negative with the bulbs shown in your picture. Red would be low reward tray, yellow is jackpot.

Test the bulbs first. Unscrew the bulb and touch one post of a 9V to the bottom of bulb and other post to the side of bulb

Make sure the two wires attached to the bulb holder are not touching.

Thanks for the information, very helpful!

Neat battery clips. Part number and source?

Picture of dinged up bells, who would have thought that they would get so damaged. 20150303_133957.jpg

I'll rotate them 180 and see what happens.

The blue things are crimp on terminals (butt connectors) from the hardware store; leave one end un-crimped and it fits fairly snug on the post.

    Radio Shack Part Numbers:
    # 272-360
7.5V bulb - fits most pachinko machine bulb bases - works ok on 9V battery

    # 270-324
    Heavy Duty 9V Battery Clip

    # 270-326
    9V Battery Holder

    # 272-360
    Bulb Holder (Base)

Indeed it is. That craigslist machine is too big and fragile to ship easily by common carrier.

I also have a machine listed on eBay currently under my screen name - illinois-aurora.

AND have two hoard locations filled with project machines!

Thanks for your help. I've got the lights working correctly now.

The bell is better but still not like my Sophia Nishijin.

btw any idea what the 2nd bell is for? I've tried to trace the paths down but I can't figure out what rings the smaller bell.

The second bell is for when you have too many jackpots that can be paid into your upper front tray, they then spill over into your lower front tray (overflow), striking the bell on their way down.

also the second bell has a different tone.. that way the player knows the top tray is full.. (having the balls fall to the bottom tray is not obvious enough)
