    Smile Winning Pachinko (Round #2)

Your PachiTalk Admins and Moderators are pleased to announce the return of Winning Pachinko to our member community!!

Winning Pachinko is an out-of-print book that was written by Tokyo-based consultant and columnist Eric Sedensky in 1991. It guides readers through the essentials of the game, such as play, strategy, how to select a machine, as well as the history and gambling aspect of the game. The book also contains a glossary of Pachinko terms, useful diagrams, and some photos.

Many years ago, one of our generous members shared his own personal copy of the book with the PachiTalk community around the world, allowing others to read and sign the book, as well as include a small souvenir to travel along with the book to the next member. The book, and plethora of souvenir's that were added to it, traveled the globe for several years before finally being returned to it's rightful owner. (To learn more about the beginning of this wonderful PachiTalk story, check out the original Winning Pachinko thread in this link: Winning Pachinko - The Beginning )

Now, in an effort to revive the tradition and continue the fun, PachiTalk has acquired its own copy of this rare book expressly for the entertainment and enjoyment of it's members. As we have done in the past, we will allow our members to check the book out from our vast and extensive library so anyone interested can read and enjoy its contents. The book will then be passed on to the next member on our library waiting list at the bottom of this post.

Any member interested in reading our Winning Pachinko book will need to understand and agree to a few guidelines we have established below. It is our hope these basic rules will help us to keep the book moving along and also help us keep track of its whereabouts at all times:

Who is eligible to receive the Winning Pachinko Book?
    • Any PachiTalk member who has been an active and participating member on the site for at least six months prior to requesting the book is eligible to submit a request to receive it.
    • You also must be an active and participating PT member at the time the book is sent to you.

    How do I request it?
    • Create a post in this thread expressing your interest and you will be added to the distribution list below.
    • Book distribution is on a first come, first served basis.
    • If your turn comes up and you fail to respond to PM delivery requests after one week, the book will automatically be sent along to the next member waiting on the list.
    • In the event your turn is passed up and you still want to receive the book, you will need to add your name to the bottom of the distribution list and wait for your next opportunity to receive the book.
    • Once you receive the book, please make a post to this thread so the Mods can update the distribution list and keep track of the book's wherabouts

How long can I have it?
    • We respectfully request members keep the book moving along to the next member in two week intervals. This will help ensure everyone will have a chance to read it in a reasonable amount of time.

How will it be passed along to each member?
    • As a recipient of the book, it becomes your responsibility to contact the next member on list through a Private Message and make arrangements for shipping the book and inclusions to them.
    • If you do not receive a response from that member within one week of your PM, you may reach out to the next member on the list and make arrangements to ship the book to them. Contact a Moderator or Admin for assistance, if needed.
    • The Winning Pachinko book will be sent between members using standard shipping and delivery methods, such as the Postal Service. Each member who receives the book will be fully responsible for any packaging and postal/shipping costs required to send it the next member.
    • It is customary for members in possession of the book to sign and date it using their screen name and add a small, flat, lightweight token from their locale to go with the book (ex. postcard, picture of local landmark, stickers, tourist attraction brochures, etc.). Please make sure you sign and date the item you include so it will be easier to keep a chronological history of the book’s travels.

What do I do once I have passed it along?
    • Once you have shipped the book and its inclusions on to the next member, you must make a timely post in the Winning Pachinko thread indicating which member it was shipped to (and the date shipped), as well as post a picture of what you included with the book. This will provide us with a historical timeline we can reference and will really help us keep track of where the book is at all times.

Note: The PachiTalk Admins and Moderators reserve the right to make changes to these guidelines at any time as needed to ensure distribution and tracking of the book is maintained in a fair and efficient manner. Any changes will be reflected in this post, as well as discussed in the thread below. We also welcome suggestions from our members regarding how we can make this process work better for everyone.

So, if you are interested in checking this one-of-a-kind book out of our library, please reply to this thread indicating you agree to follow these guidelines and your name will be added to our library waiting list by a Mod or Admin.

There is a fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."
