    Default Nishijin A "Totem" reconditioning

Got this one for the princely sum of $20 off of ebay. I was going to part it out, but somehow the little totem dude in the middle convinced me otherwise. The machine was in bad shape. It had stood in both damp and bright sun, and at one point must have been completely immersed. I disassembled the machine down to the playfield, cleaned, lubed, overhauled, and redid the lights. Two new changes I made: A mirror in the prize tip to give it more dimension, and a light. Model A lights.jpgModel A Tip and Mirror.jpg

Aannd the final reconditioning. I guess I call it reconditioned versus restored, as I did not redo the horribly stained playfield, nor did I polish and rebuild every single nook and cranny like some of you do. The stars and comets is not available anyhow. Everything else worked well, including a fresh face for Totem, which was scanned, traced, colored, and printed on laminated label stock. I couldn't redo the ball mechanism chrome, the rust was just too bad, so I did a textured finish.

The machine plays like a champ. This was my first experience with a recycler -- I wish all of my machines worked like this!
