I did email Juno last night (UK time) to tell him my aunt has received my package and also told him you might contact him.
Seeing as these motor very rarely turn up, you have been really lucky. Let's hope it is as you say the gears gone in the motor, and another machine can be put back into working order.

Success! Received the new synchronous motor from Juno in Japan, installed it, and my Nishijin Monroe works like it did when I bought it 20 some years ago.
