Yamasa playboy 88 error???

This machine comes on with both displays showwing "88", and saying something in Japanese.
will not reset, does not change when key switch is off or on, any clue what this error is ???

Make sure you are doing the reset correctly, or the machine doesn't reset.

I can change the odds by the button on the inside display, outside display is still 88
turn key back, no change , still 88 (must like Dale Earnhardt Jr.)

If the Full Reset is done correctly it will reset any error code. If it doesn't then my next guess would be that there is a problem with a connection.

First, I'd check the hopper connection and that no tokens are jammed inside it. Most times if there's a problem with the hopper, the machine won't clear the code after a reset. Your machine may still the hopper overflow sensors installed. These are metal prongs in the back of the cabinet, next to the hopper. If something is making contact with these sensors, completing the circuit, the machine will not reset.

If the machine still doesn't reset, then I would unplug every connection in the machine, one at a time, and reset the connection.
