Default A cabinet for Yamato Resurrection

I finally got around to getting a cabinet built for my Yamato Resurrection pachinko. This cabinet is based on Ken524's design. Thank you, Ken for an excellent cabinet design! Since I have no woodworking skills of my own, my brother-in-law's mother-in-law was kind enough to build it for me. Thank you, Colette for all your help!! The cabinet has definitely made the game play much more enjoyable.

Loved the show and love the Eagle. Also a big fan of another one of Gerry Anderson's shows, Thunderbirds.

So how stable was this freestanding?
I have a V-trigger frame pachi as well and I am looking at this design. I probably will never actually wall mount this.. I just don't want it falling on its face.. or vice versa.

with the lower section cut forward like his is im sure its verry stable... i have made few cabinets and never felt the need to make the cabinet stick out front like that.. but im sure it makes for a very stable unit..

The cabinet is very stable both free standing and mounted on the wall. I have to bottom section out a bit like that to make it easier to get the balls out.

The one we have here is fairly stable, at least when closed... we did add a rough pair of "feet" to it for right now until we can build a proper cabinet to house it.

You open the door, much less the whole machine, you really have to brace it. In fact, we really have to brace it even with the feet when it's opened.

Even though the cabinet was stable prior to wall mounting it, I would always recommend caution when opening either a pachinko or pachislo machine that is not hard mounted into a wall or a shelf/stand. Either has the potential to tip forward.

Nice job, looks great and is what I'm aiming to do, too.

I'm working on a cabinet using the same plans for my Yamato Resurrection. This is my first pachinko machine, love it.

Question too... did you remove the bulk of machine from the outer frame before you mounted it to the cabinet?

Not sure about on this design. But on mine. I lift the whole machine out of its outer frame, (most you can lift off the hinge pivots in the open position although some have a clip to undo)
Fix the outer frame to the cabinet. Then rehang the machine back on its hinges.

Thanks. Looks like there might be a white clip on there, I'll work with it and go this route to attach when the cabinet is done.
Just didn't know if there was a trick do it on this machine since the op already crossed this bridge when attaching to his cabinet.

I ended up using this design on my Macross Frontier machine.. I did in fact remove the machine from the frame, then installed the frame into the cabinet and then rehung the machine again.
My only real modification was to bring the ball return/base out a little farther. This made the machine even more stable.. so long as your careful when you open it up.

I was not able to remove the main part of Yamato Resurrection from the frame. It would not detach. It made it difficult to mount, but not impossible.

I wasn't able to remove it either, so I just had my kids help support it while I mounted the frame to the side of the cabinet. Worked out well and the cabinet is rock solid. Ken's plans were great.
