Question Horsing around with an idea...

Found this here contraption on craigslist, and in a fit of lunatic optimism dragged it home. It was really cheap, in hindsight probably not cheap enough.

Here we have a 1946 vintage Bally Victory Special. This was the cheaper replay version of the payout game Victory Derby.

<sigh> This one has seen better days. Seller said it had been in a barn. Didn't say "since 1952" but that's what it looks like. Didn't get a lot of water on the playfield, but sharp eyes may notice a lump near Purse #6 hole.

    Backglass missing 40%+ paint.

Here's a snap with the front stuff out of the way. Backbox just stands there. hmmm....

Here's the backbox with a pachi-sized outline in masking tape. hmmm again....

Here's the backbox again with pachi strapped to it. lol.

Here's the innards. Bunch o' rusty machinery. Celluloid disc for jackpot projector warped into an odd bowl shape. Didn't touch it so it hasn't crumbled to dust yet.

If I scrap the gray wire I should get most of what I paid back. ha. It's all gray.

The back doors somehow stayed with it all those years.

Rusty guts. Monochrome wiring. Lumpy playfield. Funky backglass. Front door missing coin machinery.

Doesn't turn up every day but not rare. The ones that do turn up have usually been stored better. Maybe even lived indoors. Sometimes light up and semi work.

Restored at any cost or recycled pachi cabinet?? I could put the front door below the pachi shelf and have a bit of cabinet space - not much storage in the playroom right now.
