Default be vewy vewy quiet im hunting pachis

Well about five years ago i got the bug and bought a few machines. Over the years they have left and I basically kept what I liked best. When I saw the arepachi in England come on ebay I even considered getting it because of the unusual nature of the Fugi Machine.

That all being said their recently was an arepachi on the craigs list that sat for over forty days with little interest. It is an older arepachi which I think are the best because of the way they play. NO automatic shooting and no flash open and close pockets. I asked mopar to get some pictures. After reviewing the pictures I told him to buy it and I would take a chance on it as I had been looking for one like it for a long time. Note the pictures. It is being shipped to mopar who will clean it up ( it is a little dirty) lol and bring it to my place in June where I will make a placard for the machine and show the end results when done.
I hope he can get it up and running. This is only the second machine I have seen with all of the plug ins. Hanabi has the other one. DSCN4113.jpgDSCN4112.jpgDSCN4106.jpgDSCN4105.jpg

cool machine and i like all the ways to score.
i'm guessing you are referring to the relays when you say "plug ins". should be easier to source relays as opposed to IC's if you have to.
i'd design the placard so that the colorful number label remains visible.

I like my chances better of finding the 74XX series TTL chips that the '70s electronic pachis used, rather than hunting some oddball miniature relay. Relays rarely fail however, and it's kinda neat being an electromechanical game instead of solid-state.

Yeah I don't know enough about electronics to make an accurate assessment about either component's longevity. It just seems that relays are more robust and I like the electromechanical aspect as well.
I've searched for obscure chips to have as back ups for my arrangeball machines (or arepachi's as LT calls them) and come up empty handed although I've mostly been successful. For some I couldn't find any data on all the different data sheets so they may have been proprietary but I suppose relays could also be proprietary as well?

I was wondering when you'd get around to posting about this one

It does indeed look to have a lot of those relays thingies that mine has, (I counted about 21 in mine)

Not sure what make and year yours is, mine is a 1973 Fuji but looks a lot different in cabinet and cell design etc

will be really interesting to compare the two as these are the only ones I've ever seen like this.

(pics to compare will be in this thread, real info starts about post 58 http://www.pachitalk.com/forums/show...l=1#post394655)

My model was listed on Fuji's website so can be accurate with date, name and also it was classified as: Arrangeball

Looking forward to seeing more pics (and more info ) when you have it

Sadly I don't have the link on this laptop, (I've frazzled the old one )

but it was researched for me by someone here that gave me the link, so it would be nice to locate it again

I couldn't find it but here is Fuji's history page.

    http://www.fujimarukun.co.jp/corp/history.html

I don't see any images of machines on it and their machine history page doesn't include the 70's.

Also here are some other Fuji related threads.

I've never had a problem. Then again I package things to basically be thrown off the truck.

I really think the conveyor belts they use along with throwing and bad packing about covers it. When I have had fed ex deliver they have been a lot better.

Was this the one outside Philly I saw? Where I thought a half hour drive was just too far!

yes. After it was on for sometime I had mopar ask for pictures. When I saw all of the relays I decided to buy it. When it arrived the circuit board is cracked and the relays were out inside. When mopar gets time I am sure he will pick it up.

    TOO FAR??
Too avoid shipping a machine I have driven way too far. But that being said both worked when I got their and got them back home. Makes it nice to be retired and use it as a nice trip. Make that two different times. WALLA WALLA - LOS ANGELES.

I have generally had better success with UPS than Fed-Ex. Without exception, the UPS driver was willing to wheel the box up the short flight of stairs and right into my apartment. The machines were all in excellent condition. With Fed-Ex, they high-tailed it out of there the second they hit the buzzer. One machine was wrecked (may or may not have been their fault) and the other had a transformer knocked off my pachinko machine frame (which I easily fixed).
I have not lost my mind. I have it backed up on disk somewhere...

Well it is in critical condition and I am sure when mopar gets time he will post pictures. As he explained to me the computer board is cracked and a lot of damage from that which will require some very finite soldering. It will be going out to be worked on.
