shipping a Pachislo

I just got a quote from UPS store to ship a pachislo within the USA, double boxed, @ $385.00. Has anyone used other services besides UPS? Interested to hear your experiences and costs.

That seems very very high. I had a pachinko shipped to me via UPS last year and the person paid ~$85. Arizona to Chicago. The person did have all the packaging materials though. Ask the person why it is so high and see how you can get the price lower. There is no way ground is $385 alone.

Go to the UPS web site, or a near by UPS store. give them all the info, and get a price. It should cost you under $100 for shipping only.

its just a guess but this has to be a "pack and ship" quote... not just shipping

hi all... yes it's a pack and ship quote. Where would one buy the correct materials to ship a pachi? cardboard from a UHaul store perhaps?

If you pack it yourself do a damn good job. If it's damaged and the packaging is determined by UPS to be inadequate, you're responsible no matter the fee you paid for the declared value-it's not insurance. Also, the packaging requirements are more stringent for electronics so there's a good potential for running afoul of UPS' packaging guidelines.
