All nails installed and playing fields in the frames also the ball shooter have been reinstalled. I am almost at the point where I will have to start working on them one at a time.

I don't want to make a guess at this time, but I can tell you that I saved about 8 labor hours on stripping the frames alone, just in set up and clean up afterwards buy doing all five instead of one at a time.

I used a stain with a syringe to fill Nishijin the same stuff I use to touch up main attractions.

The playing field on number two is almost done, I have some of the parts soaking in something new. I am trying to remove yellowing if it works out I will post how I did it, if not I will try something else.

I'm sorry but I haven't felt like doing much on the machines this week, I've been ill and haven't really felt up to working on anything. I'm beginning to feel better and hope to get back on them next week.

I have to give you credit. At any given time I have three machines being restored consecutively. Usually two for clients and one for direct resale. I imagine I could do five but I just don't have the space for that many disassembled machines without my wife throwing a conniption. Either you have a dedicated area for restorations or your wife is a saint.

The nice thing is that I can usually get machines out in less than 2 weeks each, and with the overlap and some good luck I generally get 6-7 done per month. I just keep burning out the nail-polishers, I go through one every 6 months or so. I just can't seem to find the ganzumbas to dole out the cash for an industrial one, nor the loss of insanity to suggest to my wife that she the park her Jaguar in the driveway instead of the garage so I have somewhere to put one.

Using similar to this. Takes about 2 days with walnut shells (after a day of vinegar soaking) to make them sparkle.

It may be that often I have four machines worth of nails buzzing around in it. That's almost 1000 nails.

thats interesting your not geting any life out of them??

i have two of these now

    http://www.cabelas.com/product/Cabel...0008277&rid=20

they have a warranty.. i burned one down and sent it back for a replacement.. no hassle... i would guess you could put 1000 nails in one load... i run 3 or 400 balls per load in mine (might be more its been a long time since i needed to polish a bunch)

Sounds reasonable. However, mine is running nearly 24/7 for months and months on end. I don't think it was designed for that kind of abuse.

I might try one of those next as the lid has almost worn through on the one i currently have.
