Not really. It's really gone down hill lately. You're not missing much at Zerns, but if you haven't been around here lately, it is really getting built up. I live like 2 miles from Zerns, in what used to be a farm, is now a new sub-division of 86 homes.

Utopia1dc - That's too bad, Zern's was always a fun place to go. I've been in West Chester for 7 years and the same thing has happened here. Housing developments everywhere and the prices are outrageous.

Yes, Ryan Homes builds some, but we got the local boys here. Gambone, Rotelle, Paone, Giigliotti, etc. Notice a trend in the names?

Toll Brothers is pretty big as well. But they do mostly cookie cutter homes, not much in custom or semi-custom homes.

A stuck button can cause those symptoms. If any of the following buttons are stuck on...

Joystick, Maxbet, any Stop Button, and possibly the single bet (I'm not sure on that one).

... then coins will register but pushing any of the buttons will do nothing.

If you have an ohm meter you could test the buttons. Or, on most machines (I don't have Twist to look at) there are LEDs on one of the circuit boards that light up (or turn off) when buttons are pushed. There's usually a separate LED that corresponds to each button.

Look inside while you push each individual button. If you find that, for example, one of the stop buttons does not cause an LED to turn on on off, you've found the stuck or defective button.

i think what gwarzin said might be the problem i just tried on all of my machines and if i hold down a reel stop button my machine acts the same ways yours is dattia. You can remove the reel stop button board from the inside of the machine you unscrew 2 screws and then push it out the front. then remove 1 or 2 screw from the circuit board and you will be able to see the inside of the buttons. try taking a pencil and lightly pushing them forward to see if theyre stuck.

you could try spraying electric contact cleaner around the edges of all the buttons,

make sure you power is turned off and spray it good and tap on the buttons as you do.

This was a great description of the problem, Dawn.

Sure wish everyone was that complete.

Utopia... you still got that Twist?
What button (if any) triggers LED 7 that Dawn is talking about?

I really want to thank everyone out there that is trying to help me solve my problem. I wish that I had done a little research before I started bidding. Still, I am glad that I bought the machine and am sure it'll be a lot of fun once it's up and running properly. I have the sense that you all are very smart about the workings of these machines and it won't be long until my reels are spinning. Thank you, it is much appreciated. Dawn

Yes, I still have Twist. That will probably stay in my personal collection for a while. I just went down to the game room to check it out. LED7 is always lit, so that shouldn't be her problem. I believe LED 4,5, and 6 ane the reel stops.

    dattia-
Is LED 7 the only one lit or are there others lit?

OK... what LED comes on when you push down on the joystick?

Then... Dawn, see if that one lights when YOU push it down.
If it's not a stuck button, it could be a defective joystick... or loose connection?
The joystick might have been banged in shipment (private seller).

    Good work, guys!

Okay, I think I have this problem figured out. The solenoid that energizes and magnatizes the plate that allows the token to be read and funneled into the hopper isn't working properly. The plate is not being magnitized up to the solenoid and the token is falling directly into the token return tray.

So open the door, press this place against the cylonoid and while you're pressing it, drop a token into slot and see if it registers.
    Meanwhile, somewhere in Oklahoma.

I think she said the tokens were being registered on the credit meter. So it can't be the solenoid. I still suspect something related to the joystick, maxbet, or stop buttons.

What we need now is some results from here on whether or not different LEDs light up or go off when she presses those buttons.

OK- this is what is going on with my LED lights:
    LED7 - always lit
LED8 - Joystick (did light when depressed)
LED5 - Stop button Left (did light when depressed)
    LED6 - Stop button Middle ("" "")
    LED3 - Stop button Right ("" "")
LED10 - MAX Bet (LED did light when depressed, however MAX Bet button is not lit)
LED4 - Reel Left (flickered when I rotated the reel manually)
LED1 - Reel Middle (flickered as above)
LED2 - Reel Right (flickered as above)
    LED9 and LED11 - undetermined.

The only buttons left are the cancel and single bet buttons..No LED lit when I depressed those two buttons. However, the cancel button does seem to work. It has returned my coins from the credit display when I depress it for a few seconds and does seem to have the sound effects that go with that action. (Ka-ching). Dawn
