    Default pulling hair out

Hi everyone...I just purchased my first Pachislo from an independent seller on e-bay. Perhaps not a wise choice. It was described as being in "perfect working condition". I got my machine and everything seems to be working...except for the fact that I cannot place a bet and subsequently the reels don't spin when I hit the joystick. I contacted the seller and he was trying to be as helpful as he could but I am still in the same situation. I searched the internet and found some on-line manuals and troubleshooting guides, but none seem to address my issue. I have checked the wires and harnesses (all seem to be OK as I have disconnected all one at a time and re-seated them) I have tried to reset many times according to the directions that I found on line. The only thing that I noticed that may be important is that there is a little red light on one of the circuit boards above the reels that stays lit (labeled LED7). My "Max Bet" button remains dark and the "bet" button doesn't seem to register although the cancel button right beside it seems to work fine. My joystick is lit but doesn't make the reels spin. I noticed that some posts say that when the machine initializes, it goes through a series of tests. I haven't heard this. The machine is "Twist" by Olympia. Any ideas?

Thanks Don, just went through the reset procedure but all is still the same. It registered three quarters and the three pay-off lines but when I hit the bet button...nothing. My coin hopper is empty except for the three coins...but I have had as many as thirty coins in before with the same result. Dawn

try turning the wheel in the bottom of the hopper to see if it turns ok,

are you using quarters or tokens, that may be the problem!!!!

you should have at least 100 tokens in the hopper for it to work right.

The hopper turned clockwise....then set off a siren that sent my puppy straight up into the air. I hit the reset button inside the front panel...quiet now but still not working.

I was told it was definitely a "quarters only" machine....I have since come to find out through this forum that was probably mistake #2 for me....so far I'm batting a thousand.

That is a great gift for your hubby, Dawn!

You said it registered three quarters. Is it set for quarters??? As luckydog said, most machines need tokens unless someone converted it to quarter use.

The seller told me it was "quarters only" and that he had the machine for his personal use for quite some time and it worked fine. When I opened the machine, there were still a few quarters lying in the bottom of the casing.

then you will need about 100 quarters in the hopper for it to work right.

that's the problem with using quarters, you tie up a lot of cash.

am a little out of breath....ran all over the house gathering quarters...put them all in the hopper....did the full reset procedure and....................nothing. Same as before registers coins but cannot place a bet and spin reels. I really appreciate the ideas and I will try every one if it will help solve my problems....thanks a million. Dawn

I live in PA. Not sure about Pachislo vendors, but have considered calling a company that services vending machines, videos games and jukeboxes. I am sure there must be one locally. It might be worth a try. Dawn

When you put in the coins, do numbers register on the front of the machine?
    Meanwhile, somewhere in Oklahoma.
