electrocoin cherry bar 9160 cuts out every 10 seconds

I picked up an Electrocoin cherry bar 9160 from Craigslist. The seller told me it just stopped working one day. I got it home, powered it up and it played fine. I opened the front door to check the tokens and it started acting up. Now, when I plug the machine in, it lights up and the speaker makes a sound like it is connected (a small pop) . There are no other sounds. Every ten seconds, the lights cycle off and back on and the speaker makes the same pop noise.
The machine does not register tokens being deposited. The credit led doesn't light up.
I've looked around for a repair manual but haven't been successful at all. Any help would make this a pretty cool Christmas!

if the only thing you did was open it up there might be a bad or pinched wire near the door hinge... take a look the the wires and see if there is a pinched or mouse chew...

The wiring harness isn't pinched and moving those wires doesn't affect the symptoms. It is definitely happening every 10 seconds as well.

Are there any other ideas out there from the experts?

Does anyone know of a legitimate source for manuals for this type of machine?

I am not good with electronics. But the usual advice for problems is to unplug and reseat all electrical connectors. Seems like a good idea to inspect them as well. Many times it is simply a loose connection that causes problems. Also look for any blown fuses.
As far as a manual...they were originally sold to Japanese parlors, and Japanese electricians worked on them. Any manual would be in Japanese. They are also in the parlors for 2 years or less ( Japanese law), therefore they are considered disposable. I am not even sure there are any repair manuals. I'm sure there are operator manuals...in Japanese, but I have never seen one. I would think that if a machine in a parlor went bad, it would be removed from service and used for parts. There would probably be an employee who was good with electronics and swap parts to fix things. All machines have an expiration date as to when they have to be removed from service...so I don't think they put a big value on fixing them.
Sorry I can't be much help. I don't think I have heard of this problem before. Hope you can figure it out, or someone has better ideas on what to do.

Were you ever able to fix your machine? I have recently purchased the same one and I have lost sound on mine it was working then suddenly quit. Do you happen to know where i might find the fuses I've looked all over but am unable to find them or if you have any other suggestions for me I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you.
