    Default Restored 1974 Nishijin Woodpecker

Just like the one I used to create the restoration Ebook. Picked it up off craigslist last week for $45. I know I slightly overpaid considering the original condition which was horrible. But in the end, when you do a full restore condition does not matter as much because you have to do everything anyway. As long as all the parts are there...

Very nice. I wish I could get my restorations down to a week rather that forever as my wife tells me...

The fastest I ever completed a restoration was over a two-day weekend, but it didn't include a cell replacement. I do remember though....those were two VERY long days!! After that, I started quoting my customers 2-3 weeks for completion.

With my current one I dragged my feet deciding on a background. The original was not available and wanted something that I felt fit the machine. I went back and forth for some time. It should be here in a few days and I will begin to reassemble. But on top of that I am incredibly slooooow....

you can replicate any original background by using the free graphics editing program, paint.net to digitally clean up the old cel once you scan it into your computer. when done, email the file to a print shop and have them print it on auto vinyl.

Thanks, I might try that on the next one. Too late on this one but I think I will like how the one I chose looks. Will soon know for sure.

Another program to look into is Gimp. It is very similar to photoshop (little easier to use) and it is all free. Though paint.net is easy to use too but Gimp has more features. I have paint.net on all my computers too. Just thought I'd throw that out.

I tried that, but my graphics skills are too primitive. That's why I pay a professional to do my playfield graphics for me now. Besides, he only charges me $35.00 to do one, and I can spend that time doing something more productive.
