Venus single shot machine made by Heiwa

A CL ad popped up a couple of days ago advertising this machine for $50!



After pinching myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming, I contacted the seller and set up a meeting

He told me the machine used to belong to his brother-in-laws father, who lived in Japan after WWII,
but both the father and in-law have since passed away and his widow wanted to sell some items, and that how it ended up on Craigslist
I made it down to Burleson, Tx and was pleasantly suprised to see it was in great condition

It came attached to a base that has a japanese character written on it in pencil
Theres a wooden box that covers the machine to keep it safe

I suspect the box was built while he was in Japan because of the writing on it ( but that's purely speculation )


Anyone know what the characters meaning is?

There is also a little writing and stamps on the back


After having sold my other single shot to Max, it's a real pleasure to replace if with such a stylish looking machine
( and it works perfectly! ).
Any idea what year it was made?

Not the 1st time I have seen that name...http://www.pachitalk.com/forums/forum.php thatwhole thread was funny because of the open "secret" that it was! And Jacksje4 got one as well! http://www.pachitalk.com/forums/vint...ngle-ball.html Not a common machine...and I wish I had one! The box/cabinet is interesting and even though not original...I think i would keep it! Nice contrast to your ealy moderns!

Very nice machine there.

If I was to wager the build year I'd guess 55 maybe. I could be off by a few years though.

Anyways, really nice case it has. Looks like that is what helped it survive.

I'm sure of that. As any machine without a chrome frame for the glass was most likely built in the 50's.
