Default Daiichi Bowling? Anybody know anything about this machine

    Hi,

This is my first purchase of the day, supposed to look at an early modern in a few hours and if all goes well it will be my second and last of the day.

I picked this up this morning and all seems to be good with it other than needing a cleaning. The tulip was only working if closed and when open the ball would drop down but not fully and after playing with it it seems fine now. I think it is just dirty. The playfield has no staining at all but some dirt I need to clean off. I tried with a q tip and it does come off so no real worries there. It looks like only missing one cover but I am no expert so could be wrong. It came with about 500 pieces of slingshot fodder that I am running through a tumbler to see if any are salvageable. There is a bowling feature that when I looked online I saw only at the top of machines so not sure if it was moved. Also the center feature has a little gate that flips over that on one side has what looks like a Chevy emblem. When I looked up that online I saw it on a Nishijin so again not sure if it was always there.

On to the pictures. Please let me know anything you may know about it.

    Thanks,
    Mike

You forget that brands shared parts and got them from one distributer. The center feature is typical for a Nishijin. Also there is no set way of how parts went on the playfield, it seems that was sorta based on the installer of them and what they had.

Anyways what you have there is a 1972 model. This was the first year they started transitioning to the orange back mechanics.

Cool looking machine. I like the colors and the front flair. I would give you a thanks for sharing the photos, but it appears that feature disappeared yesterday so I'll just say Thanks!

Thanks! I have not looked at Daiichi before. I only have a few machines and two were acquisitions today. I have a Sanyo Comet II, Nishijin model A (unrestored). Maruto (currently restoring), Sanko early modern (just got today) and this one. So a mix...

thanks I am happy with it. And that is interesting about the cell material. Most of the machines I have had some water staining. This one and the Sanko early modern I picked up today are the exceptions. All but the Sanyo were stained and faded and the white parts were like an off white, but the Sanyo along with water stains was very yellowed. I wonder if it had some sort of different laminate which cause that. I can't even really play much with the 2 new ones until I get my Maruto back together. It is pieces all over. I need to pick a background but having trouble deciding....
