he error code

I keep getting he error code but the hopper is half full

Most likely there is a problem with the sensor, under the hopper.

A bar passes through the sensor, which is what tells the motherboard a token was paid. If the sensor doesn't see the bar, the machine goes into error. The sensor could be dirty and cleaning it could solve the issue. Or, the sensor could be bad and need replaced. Wiring/connections could also be loose. Unplug the connections and reset them.
