    Default Flash rust on tin

I am restoring a very old and rusted machine and I noticed that once I de-rust my tin parts they start re-rusting literally in my hands. I think the term is called flash rusting. Does anyone ever spray your metal tin parts with a polyurethane. If so what brand would you recommend. Is there a trick to it? It seems that certain clips or external metal parts would be OK to spray, but a metal ball track... maybe just the outside?

    Thx

I don't remember the brand, but, years ago I used a clear coat spray in a can after I had polished some larger old military shells I had.

    they held up well!

I use Minwax polyurethane to cover after rust removal on metal parts, the trick is a light coat inside and out set the piece to dry on raw wood this will absorb excess and place it at a angle were it won't pool the polyurethane in side the part.
Unless you try to be more than you are, what you are is all you will ever be.
