Talking Early 1950's(?) Misono Single Shot

Here's my latest vintage buy. A friend spotted it at an antique store and thought I would be interested. Had to think about that - NOT! I don't think I have seen this brand before(Misono), but it looks like a 50's model. If someone can ID the year, I would appreciate it. It's missing the upper tray, but most everything else appears to be there. Cool ashtray dump feature on the front(Cheers to Mopar!). This one will take a bit of time to restore to play, but will be a nice addition. Cool center feature. I'm really surprised the factory sticker on the front is still intact. There's a few small cracks in the playfield, but nothing that would slow regular play down.

Here are some pics. I will put as many as I can here and add posts as needed to get them all in.

I've seen that method of dumping the ashtray before...was it a Dai ichi?

It would appear that Ginza used not only that same method, but those same parts as well.

Looks better than I thought Scott.

Here is a link to what I think the current company's site is. ƒ~ƒ\ƒmn•¨Š”Ž®‰ïŽÐ@MISONO CUTLERY CO., LTD. From what I have read elsewhere they have been in business for quite a while, making knives.

To answer other people's questions. The ashtray is like that because it made for the easiest way to clean them out. That way a guy with a small bucket and a stick would go around emptying all of them. Made it a lot easier than flipping the tray.

And yes a Daiichi has the same ashtray setup.

    Wow!

I would have figured it would be a while since I saw another misono machine.

@scott. I still have a feeling your machine was built around 53. Just based off the styling front and back.

I finally got ahold of some sheet metal to make a replacement ball hopper for this one. Anyone have a template for the hopper that was used on this style of rear mechanics?

I am working on my Maruto finally and when looking at it originally had thought the ashtray was missing ( just looks very shallow), that it came off to dump and was lost at some point but today when I took the tray off realized that it was there and it dumps the same way as yours being hinged at the bottom. My machine though is newer but no idea on the year.

I can dig up my GinzaGinza 001.jpg I can take pics of its top hopper, and get some measurements. 001.jpg OOPs! Wrong machine. The back shot is of a Comigo machine. The tray has an angle...cut off. I cobbled a corner soldered onto it. Did a bad job, and need to redo it. But you can get an idea of what they looked like for that era.

Talking Re: Early 1950's(?) Misono Single Shot

Here are some more shots of my Misono. They appear very similar but I haven't taken a good look at both for comparison. You are in obvious need of the upper tray so I'll get started with measurements of mine.

This one is also not working, however I have never really tried the thing out. I unpackaged it years ago and have been waiting for an opportune time to get going on it. Maybe that time is now. I acquired it from our long-gone member Birdbrain.

Someone recently posted a YouTube link of a gal who did some tin soldering? Anyone have it?
