Question How best to clean tokens?

I have a lot of old tokens that are just flat out dirty looking.

Have any of y'all done this? If so, how? I only want to clean 5 or 6 thousand or so.

I have thought I might put a bunch in one of those net washer bags and just throwing them in the washer with rags or towels to help soften the noise.

I read TA's method of cleaning pachinko balls, but that is out of the equation for me.

    Any and all ideas appreciated!

I've found great success at cleaning with a mixture of 4 parts hot water to one part CLR in a large glass bowl. Take appx. 1000 - 2000 tokens at a time and let them soak while you turn them over and over with a big wooden spoon or something similar. Do this for 12 minutes and then thoroughly rinse all the solution off. Drain thoroughly (saving CLR water for next batch). Put the tokens in an absorbent towel folding them in like a sack and shake the heck out of them! Do this until they are dry. Your tokens will look like new.

You can reuse the CLR water on the next batch with just a little more CLR added to bring back its potency.

Gee, after re-reading that above, I should start writing recipes.

    That's great, Don, thanks!

Exactly what I was looking for.

IF I can make it to work tomorrow I'll pick up some of that CLR and give it a shot.

When are you going to publish your recipe book?
