Thank you I was guessing 70's something so then at least I was on the correct decade. Yea, it looks to be in great shape. Haven't seen the back though and the seller doesn't have the front door key. Any idea if it's possible to get hold of one?

You don't really need a key. The front panel can be opened by releasing the latches on the back.

Once you get it; it will be more apparent.

The latches can be removed if you want to put it in a wall cabinet. Or there are other solutions.

looks to be a nice machine from the front...

I have taken a few locks to my local lock smith and had a key cut to open the machine... like stated above a key is not required.. but if your planing on a cabinet or wall mount then it could be helpful to have one

Pick up done and here are a few more pics of my "new" 1970 Nishijin Tokyo model A

Now, what the seller didn't tell me was that he actually had two games for sale Of course I didn't bring enough cash for that one as well, but he's gonna hold on to it for me It's a '71 Tokyo!

Just out of curiosity. What's the going rate for these in the U.S.? If I'm not mistaken they're quite common there. I paid $145 for this, which is quite fair here IMO since the market is almost non existent.

Oh, and another question. Mine only has one front glass but it looks like there's a space for a second. Should there be a second glass?

in the US you can find machines starting for free and ranging hundreds of dollars... but usually they sell for 50 to$100.. unless there unusual or in mint condition..

Thx Mopar! Any benefits of using a plexi instead of regular glass or is it just a preference?

Lots of people like to use plexi for safety reasons when kids will be around the machines..Some people will use glass on the inside for that authentic balls hitting glass sound and plexi on the outside..And some people Hate that sound so use plexi!! Lots of reasons, all personal preference..

I use plexi cause there is still a slight chance of a ball hitting the glass hard enough to crack it. Plus if you have little kids around you don't want them to be able to pick up something and shatter it.

    100 machines and counting...
