    They might as well have fired the thing out of a cannon into the cargo deck of the plane and again out of a cannon into the back of the truck... the way they handled this thing..

    Sorry to hear about that. They'll inspect the packaging and if they determine that it doesn't meet their strict specs, there will be no reimbursement. Doesn't matter if the declared value fee was paid. I've discussed this in another thread and is why I now have UPS pack arrangeballs for me when i ship and I insist on that when having one shipped to me.
    Anyway, chances are slim that you'll be able to find a replacement board. Is there a way it can be repaired? Contact one of the owners of this machine to give you the numbers on the chips if those are bad.
    Good luck.

    @Emmadog,
    there isn't any components on that board it appears to be a contact board for the lights with a loop for wire management. good news is I think I have found a solution. I found a company that makes male side connectors and all I have to do is transfer the wires over.. though I'll have to Frankenstein the wire routing to get this online lolz. here's what I found.. Everyone calls it insurance but its not. All it is is UPS' max liability for that item and it's one of the best kept secrets in the shipping biz. Its just an up sell technique that cleverly gives people the illusion of insurance. On the UPS website are all the requirements to ship items. Type and strength of cardboard, type of tape and how to tape, etc, etc. Also what is being shipped has a bearing on how to pack. If these requirements aren't followed and there's damage, it doesn't necessarily mean you won't be reimbursed but it does mean that UPS has a huge latitude to deny claims. In short, no matter the amount or declared value paid, there will be no reimbursement if the packaging is determined to be inadequate.
    I went thru this hassle and once was enough.

    thats great news. If it were me I would fix it with a piece of fiberglass cloth and epoxy. Might be worth a shot.

    USPS gives up to $50.00 free insurance on all their flat rate priority mail boxes in the U.S.
    A snes system i had marked fragile got dropped on one corner and broken during mailing,
    I couldn't file a claim, the person who got it had to take everything to their local post office to file a claim
    I never heard back from the buyer, so I guess it got settled???

    sounds like it probably did but I'm not familiar with USPS policies. i still use my own packaging when shipping small or cheap items but for arrangeball machines, i pay UPS and have the peace of mind that no matter what happens, UPS is responsible as long as the contents are labeled properly. in other words, arrangeballs are labelled as electronics and are packed accordingly. plus hunting down packing materials for something that size is a pain and so is having to create a box, insuring there's the correct space between the box and item, etc.

    If you can post nice big pics of both sides of that board, it would be helpful.

    Currently UPS is requesting that I repack the unit into the original packing materials and let them pick it back up to take to an inspection facility.
    I have basically responded with a note requesting that they cancel the claim due to the fact that I cannot trust their expertise in package handling and that in it's current state it's repairable but with my current experience with their level of service, if I turn it over to them, I may as well completely write the unit off especially if they damage it further in transit again and they choose not to cover the damages caused by them. and not only would I be out the money I paid for the purchase of the unit but the 8 months of time searching for one to become available for sale.

    once they get it through their heads that they should send over someone to inspect it at my house or cancel the claim, I will start posting Pics and start the repair process on this thing. God only knows that the moment I start poking at the repairs without waiting for these jokers to get their clown shoes tied properly, they will only be an interference in the project if you know what I mean.

    AG may have a specific epoxy inked but any general purpose 2 part epoxy should do. Clean and slightly roughen the surfaces and apply. As I mentioned, I'd use a small piece of finerglass cloth but that's probably not necessary.
