Automatic shooter does not work...

I am about to buy a couple of early-modern Nishijin machines, and on one of them, the shooter does not currently operate. According to the seller, it did when they first got it, but it no longer works.

I am a mechanical moron, but I am curious if this could possibly be an easy fix, or if these shooters just sometimes go bad without a remedy other than replacing it...which doesn't sound cheap or easy. If that is the case, it would seem that the machine would essentially be worthless.

it could be as simple as a poor connection on the dongle, or not holding the knob and shooting ring at the same time

Just be glad its not an early Heiwa. Had to say without more information. But could be simple or a nightmare
