Default 1978 Take Five coctail pinball machine.

Bought this the other day. I see them pop up every once in awhile and finally decided to buy one. I actually got two machines, I also got a Circa 1933 but this is a parts machine. I got both for $200. I use the circa 1933 as a cool coffee table in the game room and since the parts are interchangeable with the take five, it will come in handy for that. The Take Five works great, here is just a couple of pictures.

Nice find for a good price. Looks like your table saves space versus a full size game.

I have the "Roy Clark" The Entertainer pinball version of the take five .I used to play it a lot about 2 years ago but one of the diodes on the drop down targets stop working and I got lazy and just use it as a cocktail table

I have a Star Shooter cocktail. I've finished up the minor repairs, and just order the renew kit. A couple of evenings of cleaning and waxing while watching the ball game, new rubber, springs, lamps, and a ball should take care of it.

The machine is a lot more fun to play than I expected and it is nice it does not take up a lot of space.

I've been always intrigued by these cocktail size pinballs! They seem to get a bad wrap from most pinball guys, but I like em! Since they are from "Allied" are parts (computer boards and such) hard to find???

Agreed, at least with the younger pinball crowd. The elders like me seem to like them good enough. I have no idea why.

I cleaned mine tonight, gave it a coat of wax and new rubber. 100 X more fun than before. Man, that thing is fast!!!

If you go to the IPDB.org, go to the advanced search, choose "cocktail" from the "specialty" menu, you'll find there were many more makers than just Allied Leisure. I'm surprised none of the "big boys" got into it...Gottlieb, Williams, Bally.

As far as parts availability, I'm guessing that's just a crap shoot. When I got mine, it had a couple of bad drop targets. Didn't even bother trying to find parts. Made my own. See my post "Fixed my coffee table" in this forum.

I'm really surprised they haven't made it farther than they did.

Boards and other pieces turn up on ebay from time to time. Like other early solid-state games, the MPU in these are prone to damage from leaking batteries.

I finished shopping my Star Shooter tonight. I wanted to use it as a coffee table, be after lowering it as far as it will go, I still find it too tall. However, Mr. Buttons, Shop Supervisor, did extensive testing of the machine (see photo) and claims he sees no problem.
