    Default Identify this machine please

    Hi,

I recently purchased this machine on ebay:

Can anyone tell me anything about it? Approx age, maker model etc... anything would be useful.

Also, whenever I see these for sale, it says that they are taken from casinos, but I can't see that these are the same style of casinos that we have in the UK or USA, for example, and I know that my machine is a bit older, but the coin mech will take almost anything that is token sized, I could put a 10p or 2p coin in (although the 2p would jam the hopper spinny thing). My guess is that these machines are used in Japan in the same way that we have machines in arcades on the seafront that give out tokens that you can exchange for gifts not cash, am I right?

I look forward to your replies.

    Thanks

    Paul

You are correct about this being a Japanese machine. It's a pachislo, (slot machine). It's at least a 2000 or earlier model. Not sure myself who manufacturers it but someone on here will know.
    Meanwhile, somewhere in Oklahoma.

On the back upper left hand corner will be (hopefully still there) a silver label which will list the maker a month and year made.

You can see the labels on the machines in the back ground as to location.

    Many thanks for your replies.

I will check the sticker tonight, I hadn't looked at the back, I've been too busy stuffing coins in the front to see round there!

I've checked some of the FAQ etc as well over the last few days, an amazing collection of information, from what I've gleaned already, I have managed to get the front of the machine (belly section) and replaced the missing bulb, I didn't know this was supposed to light up until I read that and I'm also investigating the sound volume issue, it looks like the cotton wool is the easiest although least scientific!!

If I get any more questions to which I can't find answers I'll get back to you, and thanks again, and if anyone knows more then please post a reply.

    Thanks

Wow, what a reply, thanks pachi-sloter.

I've not had chance to get home yet and look at the back!

I followed the link and translated the page, now I have to translate the following translation.

The machine which adopts the first digital notification in history, records large hit. At the very most " the lamp it lights up just " " sound just you sound " with you called the bonus notification of that time, because mono is, when this digital notification appears, impact was large. Of course not only digital, the simplicity and the deep reach eye one of the hit primary factor. While 2 definite eyes are produced, the color it is the extent which the prayer which is turned is. In addition, also the effective sound, " キュインキュイン ♪ " of the digital rotary time, was supported from many striking hands.

    Thanks again.

Thank you all for the welcomes.

I've finished work and got home, turned the machine around and sure enough underneath a big 'Made in Japan' sticker, there was another sticker with the date '1998 5'. If the makers name was on it, it was written in Japanese. It is the exact machine that Pachi-Sloter pointed to.

The guy I bought it from has shipped a few hundred into the UK and is selling them off slowly. This particular one was advertised as broken and I risked that it might be an easy fix and bought it dirt cheap.

The fault was that the middle reel didn't stop when you pushed the button, and all I had to do was unplug a few wires and re-attach them and it now works perfectly, a wire probably came loose on the way over from Japan.

Now for the controversial bit, this machine is a bit old and the guy did have a lot of newer models, Beast Sapp and such like...but I have to say, I prefer the old style basic version without the LCD, it reminds me more of the Double Diamond style Las Vegas machines....and I do love Las Vegas.

Anyway, life story over, thank you again for the help and for making me feel so welcome.

    Cheers

    Paul

Dotster, If you like the Double Diamond, you must also like the Double Damond Delux. That is the one that has the reel "nudge" feature.

The only pachislo that has something smilar is the King Camel by Yamasa. My favorite machine, so far.

    I knew that.

Yes, KIng Camel by Sammy, NOT Yamasa.

I think I suffered a MBF, (Massive Brain Fa--uh, poot))! This is a frequent occurance that begins at age 21 and worsens each birthday.
