Default Nishijin Rolling Stone Super DX questions

    Howdy Folks!
Ive noticed a few things on my machine
    that I have questions about.
    1. machine only has one tulip, at the bottom of the center attraction. I have seen
other machines with 5 tulips. Does this have anything to do with its age?
    2. On the overflow tray, there's little green ball mount it on it with number 3 on it.
    wondering what that signifies.
    3. On the elevator, when I was really re-rigging it yesterday, the hole on the bottom
ball entry was taped closed. I untaped it, tested it, works perfectly, so left it untaped. Do
all Rolling Stones have the double opening on the elevator?
    4. final question... the green sticker on the back, I suppose it's an inspection sticker,
has the number 5 on it. my other machines have the number 11 on them. what would this signify?

overall, I'm curious to the year it was made. maybe the pictures I posted will help.
notice the 4 jackpot holes at the bottom do not have tulips.

I don't have answers for the other questions. And only a hypothesis for a reply to question 3...

All of the rolling stone machines I have seen have both pockets. I thought that one pocket was preferred because the pachinko ball will open a tulip only if it goes in one pocket and not the other. Also thought there was a piece of plastic that acted like a stop; to force the pachinko ball into the pocket. The rolling stone feature was used on Model A's and Model B's.

But of it's working for you, no worries.

It just has the 1 tulip at the bottom of the center
attraction. You are correct, when the ball goes
into the top hole of the elevator, it opens. when it goes
into the bottom one, it just pays the jackpot. it had that stop you mentioned
set below the first hole, but I moved down below the second hole.
Yep, everything works like new on it. now I'm getting ready to sand
the frame, and put a coat of stain and the polyurethane on it
to make it look a little more appealing. thank you for your
    hypothesis!

Your guess is just as good as ours on all of those.

It isn't unusual for your machine to have just one tulip. The most likely reason why they didn't add more was: A. cost; B. someone can win a lot more.

As for the elevator I'm surprised the lower hole works for you. As the reason why most were covered is because they didn't cut the chute for the lower hole to feed the ball to the payout see-saw.

    100 machines and counting...
