Default Need help with a vintage Sankyo

    Hi all.

Purchased my first machine today, and... Im not sure Im doing it right

Everything works- or did, rather- when I picked it up- the jackpots payed out AND made the bell sound.

Now that Ive got the machine back at my place and set up, I cant for the LIFE of me get the jackpots to pay out. I open the case and drop balls directly into the slot, but no go- that being said, when I tinker with the back of it, I can sometimes (accidentally) get a jackpot to both sound, and pay off- so I know the machine CAN do it.

What am I doing wrong, gang?

Thanks all! Lets bring this beauty back to life!

It looks correct in the pictures. Other than the reward tray is empty. It needs to be full.

The see saw is UP - correct. The block fork is UP - correct.

It was only empty for the picture. I have it full to the brim, the jackpot "plunger" is up, and still- no jackpot. Balls also keep getting stuck in a small narrow channel at the bottom of the machine.

Yup. looks like the payout lock is in the locked position because of the empty reward tray.

    release.jpg
When the tray fills this "Z" shaped part will rock over out of the way

Filler up and have a ball

When I push up on that part, the balls release out of the machine- I cant figure out how to get them to release through the jackpot slot. Also- when I drop the balls manually, they get bounced by the UP seesaw, into a small channel, and get stuck EVERY TIME.

Where should the jackpot balls be traveling?

    thanks

    Uploading your video may help!

Check out this sticky with a video from member Mopar about the model B. The machine is nearly identical in operation.

When a jackpot is forced, in the back of the machine, the balls come out the back, that is normal.

Kind of a tamper switch built in.

    Figured it out

I wasnt keeping enough balls in the top hopper (payout balls), and thought that the "emtpy payout hopper" lock flipper in the shooting mechanism was faulty, so i wedged a piece of plastic to keep it open and shooting

Did some deductive reasoning, and whala- working machine...

That being said--- how hard would it be for me to get the lights up and going? As you can see in the above posted pics, the wires (and even lightbulbs) are intact-

    Thanks again!

Usually white is positive, red is negative and black is the attendant wire on that machine.

Use a 9V battery to test. Unscrew the bulb and touch it to the battery posts to check each bulb.

If the bulbs work, use a battery holder or clip and twist the wires to test the wiring. The fuse is usually the weak point on that machine.

The low reward light circuit has a micro switch wired normally closed and is usually reliable.

The jackpot light circuit has a leaf switch near the see saw and is wired normally open.

One can use 7.5 V bulbs with a 9V battery and they are slightly over driven.

    Battery Holder 270 326
    Bulb 272 1133
