    Default Tumbler on the way

Ok, found a tumbler on CL for 5 bucks, to
    clean balls (pachinko balls)
After cleaning, would like to polish them
so they are nice and shiny. Any suggestions out there
as what kind of compound to use? the plan is to use
the Tumbler for this as well.
    thanks in advance!

Many of us have found that walnut shell works very well and is reasonably inexpensive. You can get it at Petco / PetSmart. The pet stores sell it for lizard bedding and it is exactly the same thing you can get that is sold as polishing / tumbling media; only a lot cheaper.

    Here is what I do.

First if they are really bad or have a good amount of rust I soak them for a few hours in CLR or simple green (dilute with water so around 1:6 CLR to water. Simple Green around 1:3) Then I throw them in the tumbler with walnut and let them run overnight. After that I sift out the walnut and rinse under water. Then place them out to dry on a towel (rub them a little when you first put them down.) After they are dry then sit there with a single light source close by and sort them, remember you want smooth balls. So some that are kinda dull can still be good if they are smooth.

    100 machines and counting...
