Default EM Shooting Gallery Wild Kingdom!

I've been on the hunt for one of these for a while (every night on craigslist and ebay) and a buddy of mine finally let me buy his (after much begging)! It had some issues (missing 8 track tape, 8 track didn't work, jungle charlie didn't move, gun was missing some parts), but after some TLC...this thing is working like a champ! Out of all the pinballs that I have in my basement, this game was the most played by my sons buddies at his birthday party! Kids were lined up! It was great! Made my wife appreciate what I have...that's me getting slapped BTW!

So here's some pics and a couple of quick videos of it.

I always liked playing those kind of games, the carnival ones with the real winchester pump 22's was the most fun

when I was a kid we always played cowboys and indians or soldiers at war

now, they don't want kids playing with any kind of guns, even pointing a finger at school will get them suspended!!

Very cool indeed and wonderfully politically incorrect. There's one of these but made by United I think at the same vintage store near me that had the Jennings Sportsman.
Enjoy the nest piece if history and nice job on the refurb.

Thanks Emmadog and rest of the folks! It's a great machine and something different than pachinkos and pinballs. I'm not much of a "gun" guy but man I love having one! I didn't even have to register it!

Hope to keep it for many years!

I'd like to pick up one of those one of these days. I saw a great thread somewhere about a haunted house themed one that some guy restored to like new condition. So cool.
Last thing I need is another project. I'm still working on my Expressway and since then have picked up two Bally Capersvilles. Yes, two. Have you ever seen the rule set for this game? Its amazingly deep for an EM, here's a link:

My first pin with zipper flippers and multi ball.
Anyway, does your gun game break down into smaller parts for transport or no?

I enjoyed seeing the custom foot stool.

Thanks for sharing and great work getting it going again.

Very nice... had a "Sportsman" Midway Sportsman coin operated mechanical gun game years ago... but just ran out of room for it. Gave it to a charity auction. Had it for a while in the early 90's in the breakroom at a certain "fruit-named" Silicon Valley computer company, but had to remove it when the gun solenoid started causing electrical spikes on all the building instruments

Emmadog that Bally Capersvilles is AWESOME! You have to make a video when it's all done (and please make one without music...I hate these videos on youtube that put music over the bells)!

    Start a thread...I will follow!

I played one of these at the Pacific Pinball Expo a couple of years back and loved it and that great 60's artwork. At the time I had no idea about all the things the pin does, especially multi ball. At that point I made a note to pick one up.
Bally made a decent number of these but they're hard to find and many went overseas.
I found a German one that's in decent shape but had some mods done to it to keep scores and therefore replays down that I reversed. I'm still sorting out one bonus scoring issue and then it'll be 100%. Its playable now though and its an impressive pin-way ahead of its time. The other I picked up is in very rough shape and its a US version. Its missing a backglass but bgresto has repros, the cab badly needs a repaint, as the playfield is really worn. So I'm sending the playfield out to get restored, getting a new backglass and I'll repaint the cab to factory specs. Once all that's done I'll likely sell the German one. Later today I'll try and post pics in a new thread.

I'll make a vid as well with no music. I feel the same about people's need to add fruity music and special effects to informative videos. Don't like it. I just need the pertinent details and that's it-I suppose that's from my time in the military.
Anyway, this brings up another point of all the vids about pinballs, pachinkos, etc. Too many are of just the person playing which is boring. I much prefer to have the person demonstrate the various aspects and describe features, modes, etc. This is how I do mine and will do the vid on this pin.

I'm up here in Portland,OR. Pinball capital of the US.
Here's a few pics of the two machines' playfields but as I stated earlier, I'll start a proper thread soon with more pics.

That looks like a fun project Emmadog. Retouch won't be too bad if you can match the paint. Looks like a phone call to PBR on those caps!
Start a thread...would like to watch!

Wow that looks like a great machine Jodini and thanks for producing those videos. I've always loved those shooting games and that one looks real fun with the black lighting!
